Join us on Saturday 10 September to see Our Changing Communities, a special pop-up exhibition organised by local young people from Ladders inclusive youth arts group and George Mitchell School.

The project explores migration to the Leyton community through oral history snapshots of migrant lives in the area between from the 1950s and the present day. The stories follow seven women and five men of Somali, Pakistani, Jamaican, Grenadian, Mauritian, Lithuanian, Ugandan Asian, Greek Cypriot and Dominican heritage.

Inspired by the stories shared, the young volunteers of Ladders have created artworks drawn from the interviews, marrying poetry and drama.
Our Changing Communities is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
